Governance
The GPYC County Council serves as the elected representative body of the Green Party of Yolo County. There are seven seats on the council and these are all up for election during the direct primary held in even years. When a vacancy exists, the Council is empowered with the ability to appoint a replacement as long as the appointment process is in keeping with the current GPYC By-Laws.

The GPYC is also an affiliate of the Green Party of California (GPCA) and sends a delegate to the GPCA General Assembly which meets three times a year. The GPCA General Assembly is the main decision-making body for the state party.
In between meetings, the will of the General Assembly is administered by members of the GPCA Coordinating Committee. Members of this committee are elected from the eleven geographical regions of California and the state at-large.
Yolo County is a part of the Central Region, the GPCA's largest geographical region. We are represented on the GPCA Coordinating Committee by two Regional Representatives, three Alternate Regional Representatives and four At-Large Representatives.
